Forgotten satire lives again: Reviving my Fabricated Press articles
Tue, Feb 8, 2011
Back in 2004, I decided to launch a series of satirical news articles from a group called "Fabricated Press." At first I posted them on this blog, then I decided to give them their own special site, fabricatedpress.com. By 2005, I figured out that good news satire is a lot harder to write, even sporadically, than it looks. It took another several years for me to admit that I was never going to maintain an entire news satire site, but I finally did. It's gone.
But some of the articles I did write had some fun parts. It seems a shame to let them disappear entirely. Plus, it's been long enough that I can distance myself from the more embarrassingly polemic bits. (Right? Please?) Finally, Drupal makes it really easy to make the satire tag stand out, and maybe even add a big disclaimer, so no one thinks any of these articles are real and gets mad. (Well. We'll see.)
Anyhow, just click the "Fabricated Press" tag to see a few.
